Bernardo was a member of the original team at Lance!, Brazil’s largest sports daily. He has also been a manager at award-winning Brazilian Communication firm Textual, where by overseeing or dealing with some of the main accounts, he has been involved in major sporting events such as the Beijing 2008 and Athens 2004 Olympics, the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, and Rio 2007 and Santo Domingo 2003 Pan American Games. With a Masters in Sport Management from London Metropolitan University, he lives in the UK and has been working as a freelance international football correspondent for publications in Brazil like Placar magazine and Globo.com, covering the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Cup, the FA Cup, the Premier League and the Brazilian national team.

Rafael Maranhão (maranhao.rafael@gmail.com)

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Maranhão started his career as a member of the original team at sports daily Lance!. In Brazil he also worked for O Globo and O Dia newspapers, web portal Globo.com and Globo TV, Latin America’s largest media network. In 2005 Rafael moved to London where he worked as a correspondent for Brazilian publications such as Placar magazine and as a sports producer for Globo TV. He has a Masters in Media and Communication Studies from Stockholm University and has been based in the Swedish capital since 2006, working as a stringer from Europe to Portuguese speaking media. He worked for the Organizing Comittee of the Rio 2007 PanAm Games and covered the Euro2008 as a pundit for Brazilian channel SporTV. Rafael also collaborates with Swedish football magazine Offside.

Sebastian Garcia

A sports journalist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sebastián García has worked for Clarín newspaper, ESPN Latin America and most recently he started working in sporting events such as the Olympics in Beijing, the Winter Olympics in Torino and the Asian Games in Doha 2006, the Rugby World Cup and the Rio de Janeiro PanAm Games 2007. He writes his own blog dedicated to Argentina (Mundo Albiceleste) and collaborates with magazines such as FourFourTwo and Placar. His time in Rio de Janeiro has given him a considerable knowledge about Brazilian football. His mission at FC Brazil is to give the readers the view from an ‘enemy’s’ point of view and spark the debate and the friendly banter.

Tiago Campante

Tiago is FC Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro-based correspondent. He was a member of the original team at Lance!, Brazil’s largest sports daily, and was one of the newspaper’s reporters covering the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He has also been involved in major sporting events such as the Santo Domingo 2003 and Rio 2007 Pan American Games. Over the course of his career, he has worked for a few of Brazil’s biggest media companies, like Globoesporte.com Web site and Globo TV. He currently serves as assistant editor at Extra, one of the top selling newspapers in Brazil.
